    Reprinting with a new cover

Posted by Jordan Perlmutter on 7th Aug 2020

I purchased this book not realizing that I already owned the previous 2012 printing. My fault for not looking closely at the title and authors I guess, though with the new cover I expected it to be more of a 2nd edition rather than a reprinting of the book I already had. I have flipped through both copies side by side and have yet to find any differences, so I'm not sure what "updated for 2020" is supposed to mean other than they changed the cover photo and a couple typos. The book itself is...fine. It's fairly comprehensive for the areas it includes, which makes for some crowded pages. I could quibble with a few confusing maps and approach descriptions, but whatever, it's good enough. If you still have your 2012 edition I wouldn't buy this one unless your old copy is in tatters.
